Where our rags are used in a metal shop
- Before welding: wiping oil, grease and dirt off the steel, with your usual solvent.
- After grinding and drilling: removing dust and cutting oil from parts.
- Before painting or coating: the final wipe of the surfaces.
- Maintenance: welding stations, saws, press brakes, drills, hands and benches.
Which rag to choose
| Use | Recommended rag |
|---|---|
| Oil, grease, everyday cleaning | Colored (T-shirt or terry), $32 |
| Degreasing before welding or painting, finished parts | White T-shirt, $42: no dye transfer |
| Oil or coolant spills | Colored terry, $32 |
Our rags have no buttons, zippers or metal parts, so they don't scratch parts.
Safety near sparks
Keep rags, clean or dirty, away from the welding and grinding area. Rags soaked with solvent or oil go in a closed metal container. See the guide oily rags and fire risk.
